rocky 4
So in preparation for our final i watched rocky four and it is amazing. from start to end film techniques create a great experience. It has the typical plot structure of a problem coming around and soon will tie together with rocky. The part where Rocky held creed in his arms and it zoomed in it created a a terrible feeling. Then the montage of training came after with Rocky going all natural while the Russian used machines and steroids. The true moment to shine is when Rocky fights Drago. It starts with Rocky being beat multiple camera shots medium closes ups and long shots. The crowd is hostile but when the first round ends, music starts. It starts slow showing build up to the second round and then all of sudden is goes loud and fast and a montage of all the rounds are shown with Drago and Rocky fighting for pride. They use mis en scene in the fight as well because Rocky is wearing the trunks of his bestfriend Apollo Creed. Its bittersweet because he's fighting for Creed. The fight also has another symbolic meaning as it was United States versus Russia. During the time it was the cold war so it was like the fight that never really happened.

If have watch rocky 4 many times already and its one of my favorite rocky movies. In the movie the use of montage was prevalent. The first is when rocky is driving to the airport to go to russia. In this scene the camera is on a close up on rocky will he is driving and in the background the song "No Easy Way Out" is playing. This scene show rocky's emotions towards his fight with the russian ivan drago. It shows rocky's anger towards Ivan by showing flashbacks of the russian's face body just looking down on rocky, It shows rocky's sad towards the lose of his fighting buddy and best friend Appolo Creed at the hands of Drago. by showing flashbacks of appolo's death and flashbacks of rocky and appolo in earlier movies and It shows rockys determination to keep fight by play the song "no easy way out" and by show flashbacks of rocky in early movies of how high has climbed and has previous fights. The second montage is where it shows rocky's and Ivan's fight training which are completely opposite. It shows rocky doing natural workouts like sit-ups , jumping rope and climbing rope. In contrast it also shows the russian do machine workouts like working on a punch machine, this contrast is reinforced with the song two worlds collide playing in background show how two opposites Rocky the natural personable and likable versus the cold harsh all most mechanical ivan drago. The last montage is the fight this is a montage basically because it show several rounds of a fight in about 4 minute. This scene shows rocky and drago throwing hard punches at each other and showing determined emotions to keep fighting. This scene also shows the fights determined and beat up faces in their corner zooming in on each of there faces. These montages add up to great and entertaining movie that i will what time and time again.
