The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

This past weekend, I watched the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  In this movie, a news reporter is given a story to write about.  The story is about the Vanger family.  The daughter Harriett went missing forty years prior and her body was never found.  Her family did not know if she was murdered, kidnapped, or if she left.  Her uncle, who acted like her father figure was convinced she was murdered by a family member.  The reporter, Mikel, hires a girl named Elizabeth who is the girl with the dragon tattoo.  She is hired because she is a professional computer hacker and she can help Mikel figure out little clues to the family mystery.  In one scene, Mikel and Elizabeth go into an Uncle's house.  His name is Harold and they suspect that he is the murderer. The lighting in this scene is dark.  It gives the scene a creepy, suspenseful feeling.  They are in a room that is completely dark and the only light is coming from the hallway.  Also, music gets louder as Mike and Elizabeth get further into the room and eventually, the music is loud and then Harold comes out of nowhere and theres a loud noise and the music stops.  Harold ends up almost shooting Mikel for trespassing and the nephew has to take the gun away.  The lighting, sounds, and mis en scene in this scene really help give the scene a creepy feeling and makes you feel on edge
