This week I watched Grey’s Anatomy. This week there was many
montages throughout the show. When Grey’s Anatomy first starts we have a
montage of two of the characters (Christina and Owen) this montage shows
different parts of their relationship from when they first starting dating, to where
they talked about having a baby, to where they have a fight about having a
baby. This montage is useful because it helps the viewer to understand what has
happened in their relationship and why they are fighting now. They have other
montages throughout the show as well, they have different montages to show how
all the doctors in the hospital were getting offers to go and get job
interviews and then it shows them on their interviews. This show also had many ‘Flash-forwards’
where it would skip a bunch of stuff that happened and then it would say “3
days later” this was useful so you knew that you didn’t miss anything. This
show was filmed with mostly medium shots with a few long shots when they are in
the operating room and then some close ups when very dramatic things were
taking place. Overall this was a very good episode and used Montage and ‘Flash-forwards’
very effectively.
