I went to the movies and saw The Lucky One with Zac Efron. The outline of the movies is a guy that is in the Marine was at war. As he walked away from a building to see what an object was that was lying on the ground, the building blew up. As he realized the building blew up he looked at the object in his hand and saw that it was a picture of a girl that said “keep safe” on the back. He then realized that he could have been killed if he was still standing by the building and notices the significance of the photo. He goes around that night asking everyone if that picture he found was theirs. He always got the same reply, “no”. He then decides he has to find the girl who is in the picture to thank her for saving his life. In the rest of the movie he goes on a journey to find her and once he finds her, he works for her and they fall in love. Moral of the story, the use of transfer was used. To show that there is a positive result if you follow your heart.

I also went to see the movie The Lucky One and I fell in love with it! The beginning of the movie opens up with the main character that Zac Efron plays is at war. This scene something blows up and the camera is shaky, and moves around quickly. This gives you the effect that you are there with them, and it shows you how these people would be seeing things. Also throughout the film you get great characterization of the main characters. You fall in love with their relationship. The chemistry that was made between was amazing, and it is hard to believe when you leave the theather that they are not together in real life. The way the director had filmed them together really affect the movie because it felt so real. Also the director used a lot of close ups on facial expressions on them at certain times so you could read their face and realize what they are thinking. The whole movie played on your heartstrings, and the director used great techniques to make the movie what it is.
ReplyDeleteI also saw The Lucky One and thought it was great. Like any other Nicholas Sparks movies, this was a romantic film with many plot twists. It also contained cool film techniques. One of these was the use of night vision in the opening scene. Like Briana said, the first scene is Logan fighting in Iraq and in order to make this scene more realistic, night vision was used. It really started the whole movie off right and provided a good feel for the opening scene. There were also a lot of close ups in that scene. The camera panned to and from each marine's face to show the worry in their eyes. Slow motion was also used a couple of times in The Lucky One. This technique was also used in the war scene. At the end of that scene, there was a huge explosion and to add a dramatic effect, they made it all in slow motion. They also used slow motion in all of the love scenes. This added to the overall intensity of the film.
ReplyDeleteI recently went to see The Lucky One and thought that it was a great movie and that it followed the book very well. Several different film techniques are used throughout the movie to help enhance the quality, with one of the most important ones being camera work. The movie is very emotional, as you could guess since it’s based on a Nicholas Sparks book, so there are several close up shots of the characters’ faces, so that you can really absorb their feelings. One very emotional scene is when Beth is out in the garden and gets very upset about the fact that her brother is gone (he died in the war about a year earlier). The camera shows several long shots of Beth in the garden, so that you can see the pots and plants that she has thrown around and really taken in how much of a mess she is making. There is also a couple close up shots of Beth during this scene, so that you see her facial expressions and it is very clear how upset and hurt she is. During this scene, sound is also very important because you hear the pots crashing to the ground, making the scene much more dramatic.
