One show that I have become addicted to is Grey’s Anatomy. It is such a great show
and it really sucks you in. You literally can’t stop watching it once you
start. Most of the show obviously takes place in a hospital and that consists
of flood lights in many scenes. Whenever there is a bad crash or if there is a
time when a lot of patients come in at once, the camera starts taking frequent
shots everywhere. It makes things really confusing. This is so we can feel the
confusion with the other doctors because they aren’t entirely sure of what is
going on either. They also do multiple extreme close-ups in this show too. They
so them during surgeries so we can see what is happening. Music is also
important in this show. Whenever something is happening that has significance,
there is music playing in the background. It will either make the scene happier
or it will make the scene seem more emotional. Something that this show does a
lot that I don’t see that often in shows is flashbacks. They make the story
more interesting and it keeps reminding you of what has happened in past
episodes or it gives you information about the character that you didn’t know
before.

This week I also watched ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. The episode opened with one of the main character Meredith talking (Narrating) what is going on. She normally talks about what will happen without giving it away, then at the end of the show she finishes her monologue by finishing about what she was talking about earlier. This episode also opens with the camera flashing on and off of Meredith who’s on the ground all bruised, cut, and she’s bleeding. The camera flashing shows how she is regaining consciousness, she was in an airplane crash. Then we have jump cuts between different scenes of the crash. Later on in the episode we have this one scene when the one doctor in the plane crash is lying on the ground and his heart is starting to fail. Then we have the doctors that are fine back in Seattle in the hospital who have a patient who is having the same problems as the injured doctor, we have jump cuts that go back and forth from the hospital to the crash site where it shows both of the doctors doing the same procedure with them alternating the words talking about the procedure. This episode was the season finally and it consists of many medium shots with some long and a few close ups. Very good episode.
