Glee

This week I watched Glee's episode "Props." During this episode, there was a fight between one of the glee club members, Puck, and a hockey player. The scene starts off showing the hockey player and his followers’ feet walking up in slow motion. Then, the camera tracks up his body. Following this, it switches to a birds eye view. This shows how outnumbered Puck is because he is the only one on his side, while the hockey player has a numerous amount of followers routing him on. When the fight begins, the shots are very short. When the camera angle is in a birds eye view, the camera tilts to hide the fact the fight isn't real. It gets the viewer more intrigued because their eyes are forced to focus on the people fighting. The short shots also help to cover up that the people aren't actually fighting. The music in the background also adds to the suspense of what the outcome will be.

Another scene in this episode that was interesting was when a girl tripped and hit her head on cement. She had a dream that she became one of the other members of glee club, and that everyone else was someone other than who they actually were.  It was easy to tell which character was playing which because the characterizations of the characters are so well developed.  This episode really displays how the show does a good job with character development.
