Dance Moms: Miami

Just recently, Lifetime premiered a new show called "Dance Moms: Miami". "Dance Moms: Miam"i is a spin off of the original reality show called "Dance Moms", which was filmed in Pittsburgh. In the new show, there are two teachers, who often come off as very hard on the kids. In last weeks episode, Kimmy, a dance student, messed up a part of her dance. They exaggertaed her little "mess up" by playing a deep, shocking sound effect as the mistake happpened. Then, they replayed the mistake again in black and white, almost like a flash back to show us that the mistake already happened and to reinforce the fact that she messed up. The dance teacher Victor got very angry and impatient and started yelling at Kimmy. Victor came off as much more cruel then he probably was because he was filmed from a low angle when yelling at Kimmy. This made him physically appear much bigger than her, which caused him to seem very harsh, powerful, and mean. They also used deep sound effects at certain parts of where he was talking to emphasize his mean words. Kimmy was filmed from a high angle, making her physically appear very small and weak. They made her look like a victim of Victor's harsh criticism. The sound effects and camera angles create the drama all love, and they're definatley part of the reason why so many people watch "Dance Moms: Miami" every week.
