Law and Order Special Victims Unit

    Law and Order SUV is one of my favorite shows, the dramatic and twisted stories interest me. This episode starts out with very dim lighting and police officers securing the area. Some chiaroscuro occurs when you cannot see the officers faces, just their flashlights. Once the detective, Elliot ,finds a boy sitting with a bleeding head, the mystery begins. The camera does an extreme close up on the boy then Elliot. Later, an officer notices multiple bullet imprints and shows quick angles and shots of things hit by the bullet. Two other boys, Luke and Tarnell are found shot dead in the gym of the school. When Elliot visits the boy to get the story, he has a brief flashback in which he mimmicks the gun shots and screaming. The boy then draws a picture of the janitor as the shooter to give a flase lead and runs away. His mother is then tracked by the camera for several hours until they find the boy again. He confesses, but screams "Zoltar is going to kill you," obviously suffering from a form of pyschosis. It is soon after deteremined he was under the influence of a prescription drug his mother gave him. Deep focus shots were used in court to emphasize emotions and importance.
   The units pyschologist gave evidence proving the drug to cause mania for the opposing defense lawyer. He doesn't agree with prescribing these hard drugs with unknown impact to developing brains. I feel very strongly about this, i think it's really sad how easily prescriptions are obtained and given to young kids because of a money hungry drug company. The boy's doctar did not prescribe him drugs for the same reasons and said "those records will stay with you for life."
