Big Bang Theory

This week I watched Big Bang Theory the episode was titled “The Werewolf Transformation” In this episode in which Sheldon’s barber is ill in the hospital and Sheldon has a conniption that he can’t get his hair cut on schedule.  In this episode Howard Wolowitz is going through space training simulation. While he is away he video chats with Bernadette while they are chatting the camera is at a slight Dutch angle to make the scene feel unbalanced. The director did this because it corresponds with how the events of Howard’s day were. When Leonard teaches Penny to play chess, this takes place in Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment. The lighting is flood lighting and spot lighting. The flood lighting is used to create a happier, funnier atmosphere. While the spot lighting is used by the lamp placed behind Penny and Leonard.  This spot light was used to better show the reflection of the chess pieces in the glass table. (It took me a few times of rewinding and pausing to pick up on it) but the director has chosen to have shown the viewer Penny has won only seconds before she announces it.  The use of camera and lighting made this episode come to life!

  1. i also watched an episode of the big bang theory this week i do not know what the title was but in it Rodge was depressed because everyone else in the group had a girl friend and he did not. This was probably because his character cannot talk to girls without having alcohol but he is still depressed. so in this episode penny their next door neighbor sets Rodge up with a deaf girl which is perfect because he cannot talk to girls. in this show most of the camera work is medium shots with a couple of long shots and a few close ups. one scene that particularly stood out was when he was saying goodnight to the deaf girl outside. it was night time but you could see the characters like it was during the day i suspected that it was down lighting and it was a use of a flood light.this show is very well directed it was directed by the same director of two and a half men and he has a good background in directing. Also the actors in this show are very talented and know how to be funny just by instinct. this show always knows how to keep you coming back for more.
