American Weed

A relatively new show that just came out on the History Channel, American Weed, has a lot of potential in my eyes.  The basis for the show is really about getting the word out on medical marijuana.  Entrepreneurs and business men are on Wall Street trying to sell their once private company in an effort to get the word out on medical weed.  The narrators and entrepreneurs are all for it but there are many people who are against it, and that is gone over in the episode.  The pure profitability in the business is what attracts all the rising business men and women.  Although the first episode went in to a lot of detail making the drug legal, there are many people who disagree on the idea.  Although legalizing the drug is a completely different branch from medical uses, marijuana still has negatives.  I believe the show is trying to get viewers to accept the fact that using the drug for medical purposes is completely fine if it heals the person.  The show is spreading the word using the most common source of information, the media.  The fight on medical marijuana will always be going now that there is a show dedicated to the advantages of it.  Every viewer that watches the show and sees the bias towards the pros of the medicine is another person that would agree to it in a bill or a law or a vote.  The first episode grabbed me in and showed me all of that and now I have a changed view on the use of marijuana.
